Five tools we cut from the stack
Each of these had real momentum, real launches, real hype. They did not survive contact with our actual projects.
1. Galileo AI (now Google Stitch)
The acquisition transition broke continuity for users. Stitch is fine, the rebrand cost the original momentum. We use v0 or Uizard instead for the same use cases. Stitch review.
2. Most generic Framer marketplace portfolios
The top 10 for “designer portfolio” have the same generic hero. You are not buying a portfolio; you are buying everyone elses portfolio. Better picks.
3. Magician beyond icon generation
The icon and copy generation features are best in class. The other features feel underbaked. We use Magician narrowly, not broadly.
4. Bolt.new for production sites
Excellent prototyping. The hosted environment is not a production platform. Migrate it before you ship.
5. AI logo generators (the consumer ones)
The consumer logo generator category is full of identical AI output. For designer use, the realistic options live in our logo generator hub, and most of the time you are still better off hand-drawing.
